This is Carma (Tawa Bordeaux Red Forest). She is a brown masked Dogue de Bordeaux.
Carma is a beautiful 3-year-old bitch, bred in Germany at Kennel Bordeaux Red Forest by Alexandra Merle.
Carma has just been mated in October 2024 with Rembrandt V.D. Madroelhoeve, - a really awesome male from breeder Rob Van Os in the Netherlands.
We are so so excited to see the result of this breeding, as for me it is a dream breeding, because the 2 parents compliment each other's strengths, but on top of that they are also equipped with a very sweet temperament.
We expect the puppies to be born around 16.12.2024, so a kind of early Christmas present.
You are welcome to contact us, for further information, about this litter.
Normally we have several dogs here in our Kennel, but at the moment there is only Carma. We expect our "keeper" from this breeding, will be a male.
We lost our old blackmask male Armstrong due to age, on New Year's Eve in 2021 - he was almost 10 years old.
In September 2023 we lost the Hairless Terrier Vega due to illness. She was the most "easy going" dog we ever had. Really fun, easy going, loving, a very insistent and pushy lap dog, and just sooo cute. She used the Bordeaux as a radiator, and often lay on their backs to get the heat from them.
Many people thought that it would be a bit disgusting to touch a hairless dog, but once you get used to it, you don't think about it. Some thought she was extraordinarily ugly, but we thought she was beautiful.
Our world with Bordeaux originally started in 2009, and there are especially 2 of our dogs from the first year's, that have left a deep impact on us, - and that is the 2 males Thor and Loke.
They were "very best buddies" and enjoyed each other so much. What a blast with those 2 males.
The average age of a Dogue de bordeaux (and large breeds in general) is between 6-8 years. Som tho get to be 10-12 years.
Personally we actually think, that the worst thing about owning a dog - is that the loss feels so sadly and bottomless when they are no longer in our world.
On the other hand, Bordeaux is STRONGLY addictive, and you get so much in return. It is not just a dog, but a 4-legged friend with a very big personality.
